How Long Does It Take To Charge An Electric Van
The answer to this is not straightforward. It depends on which model of vehicle you have and where you are charging it:
There are 3 main ways you can charge:
At home on a normal 3 pin plug.
At home on a charge point installed at your house (which can be mostly paid for by a government grant if you own or lease an electric car ).
Out and about at a public charge point.
If your electric van is the right model it can use all of these
At home on a normal 3 pin plug will take about 8 hours for a full charge. (Most people do this overnight)
At home on a charge point will take about half this, 4 hours.
At a public fast-charge point you will get an 80% charge in 30-40 minutes so you can charge up while you have a coffee or meal break.
Not all electric vans can do this. In order to use a fast charge point, you need a RAPID model.
In order to use public fast charge points AND charge twice as fast at home on a charge point, you need a RAPID PLUS.
When you come to buy an electric van the Rapid+ and Rapids will be more expensive so if you don't do many miles a day and can manage with an overnight charge you can save money by buying an ordinary model. At Electric Cars Uk we have all 3 types of Nissan eNV200s in stock.
